A four-year-old boy remains intubated at Makario Hospital in Nicosia after a near-drowning incident at a hotel pool in the Chloraka area. According to police, the child was found at the bottom of the pool by a swimmer.

The incident occurred yesterday around 15:15. The child was pulled from the pool and transported to Paphos General Hospital and then to Makario Hospital. His health condition is described as stable by the attending physicians.

According to the child's mother, the 4-year-old was at the edge of the pool under her supervision, but at some point, he slipped out of her attention as she was caring for her younger child. It appears that the 4-year-old moved to a deeper part of the pool.

The child's family had arrived at the hotel for vacation from Israel. The case is being investigated by TAE Paphos.

A lifeguard was present at the scene.
