Disturbing accounts emerge from Cyprus as residents report their properties being looted amidst the ashes and debris following recent wildfires. According to reports, perpetrators are stealing items even from destroyed homes in the Souni – Zanatzia area.

"They broke the glass, entered while he was sleeping," a resident stated, describing a theft incident at a home. Konstantinos Papatheodorou, Community Leader of Pano Kyvides, stated that residents are conducting patrols to protect their properties.

Nikos Logginos, Chief Fire Officer of the Fire Department, reported that despite the devastation, some individuals attempted to start new fires. Specifically, in the Orounta area, a car was seen setting three fire spots. Authorities are investigating all information related to the fires.

The Fire Department urges citizens to avoid actions that could cause new fires.
