Investigations continue into the fatal car crash in Aglantzia, which resulted in the death of 20-year-old Kyriakos Antoniou. Authorities are using a drone to map the scene and are planning a reconstruction of the accident.

Yesterday's examinations on Larnakos Avenue aimed to determine the speed of the 24-year-old driver. The scene mapping using a drone will help police experts gather evidence regarding the speed of the 24-year-old's car, who allegedly was driving at 150 km/h in an area with a 50 km/h speed limit.

The data from the photogrammetry is expected to be used in the reconstruction of the accident, which will take place at 01:20 early Tuesday morning. Experts are also awaiting answers from the manufacturer of the 24-year-old's vehicle.

So far, an arrest warrant has not been issued for the 24-year-old, as there is not enough evidence to support an indictment against him. The 24-year-old's position will only be considered aggravated if it is proven that he was driving at approximately 150 km/h.

The accident has caused social reactions, with residents of Aglantzia denouncing death races on Larnakos Avenue. According to a report in «Φ» in August 2024, the Police only set up mobile cameras at the location.
