Amianthus: Autopsy Finds Cause of Death for 74-Year-Old Tanker Driver

The death of 74-year-old Sotiris Trigkis resulted from injuries sustained in a traffic accident, according to the official autopsy conducted by coroner Nikolas Charalambous. The unfortunate man succumbed to his injuries after a tanker overturned on the Karvounas – Amianthus road towards Limassol.
The accident occurred when the tanker driven by Trigkis veered off course on a bend, collided with a concrete wall, and overturned. The 74-year-old, a retired police officer, was taken to Kyperounta Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The head of the Limassol Traffic Police, Marios Charalambous, stated that the driver was wearing a seat belt and skid marks were found. The tanker will be examined for possible mechanical failure.
