The trial of 22-year-old SYOP, accused of attempting to murder a 47-year-old businessman on July 31, 2025, has been postponed to May 4.

The defendant appeared before the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court under strict security measures. In the previous hearing, SYOP pleaded not guilty to the 9 charges against him.

The court stated that the postponement was due to a heavy schedule. The case was rescheduled for a hearing on May 4, with the defendant remaining in custody.

The charges include conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, conspiracy to theft, attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm, and other related charges.

The defendant was arrested on November 17 following information about his involvement in the attempted murder. A pistol, bullets, masks, and mobile phones were found at his home. According to the police, videos were found on his mobile phone showing that he was monitoring the target.

The attempted murder was committed on July 31, when the 47-year-old was riding a bicycle in the Krasa area. The 47-year-old was not injured.
