Two Drones Intercepted Near Akrotiri – Areas Evacuated

Two unmanned aerial vehicles moving towards the British Bases in Akrotiri were intercepted in a timely manner, according to Government Spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis.

According to the Spokesman's post, the drones were intercepted at 13:10 on Monday.

Earlier, sirens sounded in the Akrotiri area, and warplanes were seen taking off.

Simultaneously, Paphos Airport was evacuated due to information about a drone heading towards the area. Instructions were given to evacuate the Akrotiri Municipal Department and Paphos Airport. As a precaution, residents of the Timi communities were asked to limit their movements.
