Supreme Court: Bank Locker Searches Authorized with Warrant

The Supreme Court has issued a significant decision allowing law enforcement Authorities, with a warrant, to search bank lockers if there are reasonable suspicions of a connection to sought-after evidence.

The decision is related to an international investment fraud case involving cryptocurrencies, where individuals allegedly embezzled funds through companies in Cyprus, Singapore, and other countries.

The Court rejected a request to annul search warrants, ruling that there was sufficient evidence to link the lockers to the evidence, without requiring proof of offenses at this stage.

The case was handled by Ms. Marina Fotiadou and Ms. Elena Konstantinou on behalf of the Attorney General.
