EAC Email Scam Alert: Unpaid Electricity Bills

The EAC (Electricity Authority of Cyprus) is warning consumers about deceptive emails claiming unpaid electricity bills.

According to an update to ΚΥΠΕ, new incidents have been reported involving misleading emails falsely claiming that electricity bills remain unpaid.

The emails, titled ‘Urgent Warning Unpaid Electricity Bill,’ urge recipients to follow a link to pay their bill.

The EAC clarifies that these messages do not originate from them and constitute a phishing attempt. The public is urged to be cautious of emails containing links or attachments.
