Attempted Murder in Amargeti: 55-Year-Old Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

The 55-year-old suspect in the attempted murder of a 41-year-old in Amargeti, Paphos, in April has pleaded not guilty. The case was scheduled for February 3, 2026.
The 55-year-old is accused of attempting to kill the 41-year-old from Limassol on July 5 at the location "Fournoi" in Amargeti, using a firearm. He is also accused of illegally transporting a firearm without a permit.
The Prosecution requested that the suspect remain in custody until the trial. The defense attorney did not object but cited health problems of his client.
According to police, the 55-year-old and the victim had disputes over property boundaries. The 41-year-old was found injured in the abdomen and was treated in the ICU of Nicosia General Hospital.
