Citizenship Trial Involving Marios Demetriades and Others Set for December 2025

The hearing regarding the citizenship case, involving former Minister of Transport, Marios Demetriades, and others, has been postponed to December 19, 2025.
The start of the proceedings was scheduled for today before the Nicosia Permanent Criminal Court, but it was postponed to December 19, at 09:00.
A total of ten individuals, eight natural persons and two legal entities, face various charges, including influence peddling, bribery, conspiracy to defraud, money laundering, and violation of the Council of Europe convention on the criminalization of corruption.
Specifically, in addition to Mr. Demetriades, Andreas Demetriades, Dimitris Demetriades, Giorgos Demetriades, Eleni Simillidi, Jing Wang, Josef Friedrich Santin, Vasiliki Georgiou-Santin, Andreas Demetriades & Co LLC, and Delsk (Cyprus) Business Services Ltd. are also accused.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by the court.
