The Court of Appeal upheld the conviction of Dimitris Mamalikopoulos, sentencing him to 40 years in prison for conspiracy and attempted murder coordinated from the Central Prisons. The decision, dated September 4, 2025, rejects Mamalikopoulos' appeal, who was convicted by the Larnaca Criminal Court on 24 counts.

The attempted murders involved Kostas Charalambous in 2019 in Larnaca and Kostas Kritikos in 2020 in Ayia Napa, resulting in the serious injury of five people. Mamalikopoulos, while serving a life sentence for the Ayia Napa quintuple murder in 2012, gave instructions via mobile phone.

The Court of Appeal rejected all grounds of appeal, deeming the original decision correct. Mr. Ninos Kekkos handled the case on behalf of the Attorney General.

It is recalled that the victims of the Ayia Napa quintuple murder in 2012 were Giorgos Georgiou, Filippos Loukaidis, Marios Karaolis and two Romanians, guards of Fanos Kalopsidiotis.
