Cyprus Dermatological Society: Warning About Illegal Botox
Share on:

The Cyprus Dermatological Society warns against the administration of pharmaceutical products such as Botox and Dysport by unqualified doctors in unapproved locations. It emphasizes that the administration of these products constitutes a purely medical act and must be carried out exclusively by doctors in approved medical facilities.

In a statement, the society points out that the Ministry of Health confirms the existence of illegal practices, where non-doctors administer preparations of unknown origin, which have been circumvented from the legal supply chain.

The Cyprus Dermatological Society urges citizens to seek full transparency and documentation before undergoing aesthetic procedures with injectable drugs, as the use of unapproved substances or their administration by non-doctors can cause irreversible damage to health.

The company considers it imperative to discuss the issue in the House of Representatives, in order to strengthen the legislative framework and regulate related issues, such as the use of laser technologies for medical purposes.

Finally, it reminds that every doctor has a legal and ethical obligation to strictly adhere to the legal pharmaceutical supply chain.
