The court proceedings concerning the case of the Central Prisons documents continued before the Nicosia Criminal Court. The prosecution referred to the handover of evidentiary material, clarifying that requests have not been submitted by all defense attorneys.

The prosecution intends to hand over evidence and documents that are not classified. The evidence includes recordings of lawyer-client communications, copies of which will not be provided, but the right of inspection will be granted to the lawyers. The classified documents amount to approximately 2,500, and their content will be redacted, while a descriptive presentation will be given.

The defense expressed objections, arguing that the court is being asked to prematurely decide not to hand over documents without knowing which ones will be handed over. They demand that the provisions of the law be fully complied with and that all evidentiary material be handed over.

Special mention was made of the fact that the documents were handed over to a private company for scanning, in a space with third-party access. Defense attorney Sotiris Argyrou requested that the time requested by the prosecution not be granted and submitted a request to suspend the proceedings.
