Double Life Sentence for Double Homicide in Ypsonas, Limassol

The Criminal Court of Limassol imposed two consecutive life sentences on a 51-year-old defendant for the double homicide committed on June 29, 2023, in Ypsonas, with victims 44-year-old Marios Onisiforou and 51-year-old Michalis Michael.
His 56-year-old co-defendant was found guilty of manslaughter, and his sentence will be announced later. The defendants did not admit to the charges, resulting in a hearing process from February 2024, where the Prosecution presented 37 witnesses.
The Criminal Court's decision was unanimous and exceeds 200 pages. The 51-year-old was found guilty of premeditated murder, as the court accepted that, despite the previous attack suffered by the defendants, the perpetrator acted in a calm state of mind, using a knife he carried with him.
The second defendant was found guilty of manslaughter, as the court found a common purpose with the first defendant to attack the victims.
