Disneyland Paris Investigates Alleged Fake Wedding with 9-Year-Old

A controversy erupted at Disneyland Paris when a ceremony, appearing to be a wedding, involved a 9-year-old girl. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in a privately rented area.

According to BFM TV and Le Parisien newspaper, a 22-year-old, allegedly the organizer, claimed the ceremony was part of a film production for social media. The 'bride' was a young child dressed in a wedding dress and heels.

The ceremony was set up in front of Sleeping Beauty's castle, with approximately 200 adults and 100 children (aged 5-15) hired as extras. Disneyland staff noticed the situation when they saw the child struggling to walk and alerted the authorities.

Four people were arrested: a 22-year-old British man, the 41-year-old Ukrainian mother of the child, and two Latvians aged 55 and 24. The mother stated she wanted her daughter to experience the 'magic of Disney.' The 55-year-old Latvian claimed he was hired to play the father of the bride.

The French prosecutor's office has filed charges of fraud, breach of trust, and money laundering. The organizers allegedly used fake documents to rent the park. The cost of the event exceeded $130,000.

The Judicial Authority of Meaux has taken over the case, and the British man and the child's mother have been brought before a judge. Witnesses expressed outrage upon learning the truth.
