A 26-year-old man was sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Paphos District Court for a fatal road collision that occurred in November 2023. The victim was Goga Partsvania, 33 years old, from Georgia.

The 26-year-old was found guilty of causing death by reckless act and leaving the scene of the accident without providing assistance. The court imposed prison sentences of 12 and 14 months, to be served concurrently. In addition, his driving license was revoked for 12 months, and he received 8 penalty points.

The collision occurred on Ikarou Street in Paphos, when Goga Partsvania was hit by a passing car while crossing the road. The driver fled the scene, leaving his vehicle behind. The 26-year-old later turned himself in to the police and was arrested.
