Extensive Police Checks in Cyprus: Arrests and Citations

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive checks across the country, aiming to prevent crime and enhance public safety.
During the operations, five people were arrested for offenses including illegal possession of narcotics and illegal stay in the Republic of Cyprus.
542 vehicles and 213 individuals were checked, while 32 premises were inspected, resulting in 4 complaints.
Traffic controls resulted in 132 citations for traffic violations, with 46 concerning speeding. Additionally, in 398 breathalyzer tests, 16 drivers tested positive for alcohol. 7 vehicles were also detained.
Police operations continue with increased presence and targeted checks.
