Tension prevails in Larnaca following armed clashes on Grigori Afxentiou Avenue. More than ten people were involved in a brawl with axes, crowbars, and wooden planks, and gunshots were fired. One injured person was taken to the hospital.

Police have issued arrest warrants against a 48-year-old Cypriot national and three foreign nationals of Arab origin (35, 26, and 20 years old). The charges include conspiracy, illegal possession of weapons and explosives, extortion, and participation in a criminal organization.

The incident occurred near the Larnaca Police Department. The Minister of Justice, Kostas Fytiris, visited the city and stated that crime has become emboldened. He asked Parliament to approve legislation that will strengthen the Police.

The Mayor of Larnaca, Andreas Vyras, called for measures to address crime.
