Intensified Checks for Bonfires and Firecrackers in Nicosia and Limassol

The Cyprus Police have intensified checks to prevent the use of firecrackers and the lighting of bonfires, with patrols and inspections in all districts.

As part of these actions, the Police responded to incidents of fire starting and firecracker use, while in various areas, wood intended for bonfires was located and confiscated. A number of young people were checked, with no reprehensible acts found.

In the districts of Nicosia and Limassol, piles of wood, chairs, sofas, and garbage bins intended for bonfires were found. Some of the items were collected in cooperation with local authorities.

The Police continue their actions to prevent dangerous behaviors and enhance the safety of citizens.
