Police Officer Assaulted in Nicosia Hospital Emergency Room

A serious incident occurred in the Emergency Room of Nicosia General Hospital on Friday, August 22, when a 32-year-old foreign national assaulted a female probationary police officer.
According to reports, the man, who had been taken to the hospital with head and ear injuries, kicked the police officer in the face while on a stretcher. Spray was used to subdue him during the arrest due to his agitated state.
The police officer received first aid on the spot and was found to have mild swelling and a small abrasion under her right eye. The 32-year-old was arrested for assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and illegal stay in Cyprus.
