Mobile Camera Van Attacked in Nicosia District

A 36-year-old man has been arrested for attacking a mobile speed camera van in the Nicosia district. The incident occurred last Wednesday, 17/09/2025, when the perpetrator, possibly using a multi-tool, broke the rear window of the vehicle while the operator was conducting a speed check.

During the arrest of the 36-year-old, various burglary tools were found in his vehicle, including scissors, screwdrivers, pliers, a cleaver, and knives. The arrested man faces charges of possession of burglary tools, possession of offensive weapons, and carrying knives outside his residence.

The case is expected to be filed in court today. Investigations are continuing by the Pera Choriou Police Station.
