Ayia Napa Raid: Seizures and Out-of-Court Settlements

On 14/3/2026, the Department of Customs and the Police conducted a coordinated operation in Ayia Napa, targeting establishments selling illegal goods.
During the inspections, illegal tobacco products, nicotine pouches, tobacco, and counterfeit goods were seized at two establishments.
At the first establishment:
- 39 packs of cigarettes
- 250gr of rolling tobacco
- 1Kg and 50gr of hookah tobacco
- 59 packs of tobacco pouches
- 53 packs of chewing tobacco
- 69 packs of nicotine pouches
The owner was arrested and released after an out-of-court settlement of €1,000 for the tobacco products. The nicotine pouches were handed over to the police for investigation.
At the second establishment:
- 160 counterfeit clothing and fashion accessories
- 444 packs of nicotine pouches
The owner agreed to an out-of-court settlement of €350 for the counterfeit goods, which will be destroyed. The nicotine pouches were also handed over to the police.
