Police Operation in Larnaca: Arrests and Investigations

Police in Larnaca have arrested eleven people following a clash and shooting near the Larnaca Police Directorate last Saturday. A raid was also carried out at the Central Prisons, where a detainee was arrested.
One of those arrested was released, while the remaining ten are expected to appear in court. The detainees face charges of interfering with judicial proceedings, participating in a criminal organization, and other related offenses.
According to the Police, searches were carried out in homes and premises, where €1,050, jewelry, mobile phones, two bulletproof vests, replica pistols, and other items were confiscated. Two vehicles were also seized.
During a search of a home, a firearm was found for which there was no possession permit, resulting in the arrest of the owner. In addition, during a raid on the Central Prisons, a 23-year-old detainee was arrested for attempted murder.
Investigations are continuing by the Larnaca CID, with authorities not ruling out further arrests. The offenses under investigation relate to the period 2023-2025 and include participation in a criminal organization, conspiracy to commit a felony, extortion, and money laundering from illegal activities.
