Investigations into Allegations Against Mayors and the Phaedonos Case

Investigations are underway regarding the alleged assault of Louisa Phaedonos, as well as the claims of businessman Aristos Aristodimou against the Mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos. The police have contacted Aristodimou to arrange a meeting.

The Ministry of Interior has requested information from the police regarding the Phaedonos case in order to decide whether to suspend him. Lawyers express doubts about the constitutionality of suspending an incumbent mayor.

Additionally, the Ministry of Interior is awaiting information on a second incumbent mayor accused of abusing his wife and minor children. Another complaint against him is also being investigated.

Lawyer Simos Angelidis attributes the delay in the case of the second mayor to a communication problem between law enforcement authorities and the Ministry of Interior.
