The next 24 hours are expected to be critical in the case of the Mayor of Paphos, Phaedon Phaedonos. The special investigative team is examining allegations against him, including an ex officio investigation into the alleged assault of his wife and an allegation of sexual abuse that occurred ten years ago.

According to Omega Channel, in the sexual abuse case, witnesses named other individuals allegedly aware of the incident, whom the Police are seeking. Their testimony is considered crucial before the Mayor of Paphos is summoned, possibly early next week.

Additionally, the Ministry of Interior has requested the departure of the Municipal Secretary, Themis Filippidis, due to pre-retirement leave. The Municipal Council will hold an emergency meeting on Monday to replace him.

The allegations made by Ioanna Fotiou, also known as Annie Alexui, have also caused reactions. She stated that she would not testify on Cypriot soil. The Presidential Office called for careful evaluation and timely investigation of the allegations.
