Stavros Demosthenous Murder: Greek National Released – 'Wrong Place, Wrong Time'

A 39-year-old Greek national, who was arrested for alleged involvement in the murder of Stavros Demosthenous, has been released after it was established that he had no connection to the case.
His lawyer, Alekos Argyrou, told OMEGA Channel that his client was working as a subcontractor on a construction site near the victim's home. 'He was in the wrong place at the wrong time,' Mr. Argyrou stated.
The lawyer pointed out a legal loophole that prevents the 39-year-old from claiming compensation for the deprivation of his liberty. 'My client was deprived of his freedom, deprived of his family, suffered financial damage, and at the moment he cannot do anything,' he emphasized.
Police investigations are continuing, with two more individuals being sought. In addition, the DNA of the 59-year-old recently arrested has been matched to genetic material found on a jerrycan in a stolen vehicle in the area.
