26-Year-Old Jailed for Fatal Hit-and-Run in Paphos

A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to imprisonment by the Paphos District Court for a fatal road collision that occurred in November 2023. The victim was 33-year-old Goga Partsvania, formerly from Georgia.

The court found the 26-year-old guilty of causing death by reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident without providing assistance. He received prison sentences of 12 and 14 months, to be served concurrently.

Additionally, the 26-year-old was banned from driving for 12 months and received 8 penalty points on his license.

The collision occurred on November 5, 2023, on Ikarou Street in Paphos. Goga Partsvania was hit by a passing car while crossing the road on foot. The driver fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle.

The 33-year-old was taken to Paphos General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
