The Nicosia Criminal Court has called Dimitris Syllouris and Christakis Giovanis to present their defense regarding the three charges they face, related to the criminal investigation of naturalizations through the Cyprus Investment Program.

Dimitris Syllouris' defense lawyer, Kris Triantafyllidis, and Christakis Giovanis' lawyer, Giorgos Papaiioannou, presented a legal position and jurisprudence arguing that the Prosecuting Authority does not have sufficient evidence for conviction.

The representative of the Prosecuting Authority, Haris Karaolidou, stressed that the testimony should be viewed as a whole and not in isolation, arguing that the defendants exploited their positions to promote cases within the framework of the investment program.

The court has set the dates 9/9, 11/9, 15/9 and 17/9 for the continuation of the proceedings.
