Kalavasos: Man Admits to Hitting Cafe Showcase and Fleeing

A 53-year-old man has admitted to charges that on August 12th, he crashed his vehicle into a cafe showcase in Kalavasos and then fled the scene. The case is scheduled for sentencing on September 15th.
According to the Police, the man admitted to charges of careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, refusing to provide a preliminary breathalyzer test, driving a motor vehicle while it was immobilized, and driving a vehicle without insurance.
The Court set September 15th as the date for reading the facts and imposing the sentence. It also ordered the 53-year-old to sign a guarantee of 5,000 euros and revoked his driver's license until the same date.
On August 12th, the 53-year-old driver, under investigation, lost control of his vehicle at the Kalavasos roundabout and crashed into a cafe showcase, causing minor damage. He then left the scene but was later located by the Police at Zygi marina. He refused to provide a breathalyzer sample and was arrested.
