Karvounas: Retired Police Officer Dies in Truck Accident

Sotiris Trigkis, 74, a retired police officer, tragically died in a truck accident on the Karvounas – Amiantos road towards Limassol. The accident occurred when the tanker he was driving overturned.

Marios Charalambous, head of Limassol Traffic Police, stated that the accident happened around 14:15. The vehicle collided with a concrete wall and a telecommunications pole, resulting in the overturning.

Sotiris Trigkis was transported to Kyperounta Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident, including mechanical inspections of the vehicle.
