A complaint has been filed regarding alleged medical negligence at Larnaca General Hospital, following the death of a 92-year-old patient. The deceased's relative described a tragic situation and poor conditions at the hospital.

The complaint alleges that during the patient's eight-day stay, a total of five people died. The relative stated that her father had suffered a mild stroke and remained in the Emergency Room for five hours. He was then transferred to the Grigoriou Clinic due to a lack of available beds, without clear instructions regarding his diet.

The complainant claims that feeding the patient, who was unable to swallow due to the stroke, caused aspiration pneumonia. She also alleged a delay in inserting a nasogastric tube and a lack of continuous monitoring.

"On the last day, I left for an hour to go home, and I came back and found my father dead, alone, with blackened fingernails. No one noticed," she stated. The complainant said she would send a letter to OKYPY and called on the responsible authorities to take responsibility.
