Seizures of "Laughing Gas" and Untaxed Tobacco Products in Famagusta

Packages of controlled drugs (nitrous oxide) and untaxed tobacco products were seized in three kiosks in the Famagusta district.

According to the Police, a search of a kiosk revealed 101 unused metal ampoules containing nitrous oxide, a metal canister, and 47 balloons. The 41-year-old manager was arrested and released. A case of illegal possession of a controlled drug is under investigation.

In other searches at two kiosks, untaxed tobacco products were confiscated. The first kiosk contained 82 cartons of 200 cigarettes, 83 packs of 20 cigarettes, and 19 boxes of 200 heated cigarettes. A 30-year-old manager was issued an extrajudicial notice. In another kiosk, 48 nicotine sublingual tablets were seized, and an extrajudicial notice was issued to the 40-year-old manager.
