Occupied Territories: Reactions to the 'Arrest' of 5 Greek Cypriots

Reactions have been voiced in the occupied territories regarding the 'arrest' and yesterday's 'judicial' process concerning the 5 Greek Cypriots. The president of KEK, Izzet Izzian, attended the 'district court' of Trikomo, which decided on the 'detention' of one Greek Cypriot couple for up to 3 months until the trial begins.

Izzet Izzian stated that 'everything is a fraud, a complete conspiracy,' while former Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci said that we are facing a situation of 'an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.'

The newspaper 'Avrupa' agrees with Mr. Akinci's view, while 'Ozgur' writes that Cypriots are hostages of political retaliation. 'Star Kibris' refers to statements by Ersin Tatar regarding the 'immovable property committee' and the actions of the Republic of Cyprus.

Ersin Tatar claimed that the Greek Cypriot side is trying to render the 'committee' inactive and warned President Christodoulides that what he is doing on the property issue is terrorism. He also claimed that information is being leaked from within the pseudo-state.
