Brother-in-law of Fanouris Kargakis Accused of Intentional Homicide

The brother-in-law of Fanouris Kargakis is accused of intentional homicide against Evangelia Fragkiadaki in Vorizia and attempted serial homicide. The 43-year-old was taken to the Heraklion courthouse wearing a bulletproof vest.

He was arrested during a police operation at his livestock farm and given until Monday to testify. His arrest was made in the context of flagrant offenses for possession of weapons, as video footage was found showing him firing a Kalashnikov.

Members of the Fragkiadaki family testified, naming members of the Kargakis family as perpetrators. Two injured individuals are hospitalized under guard at PAGNI.

ELAS proceeded with two detentions of individuals allegedly related to the family of Fanouris Kargakis.
