Convicted criminal Doros Theophanous, known as "The Hairdresser," claims innocence in the murders of his partner and her 3-year-old daughter. The Paphos Permanent Criminal Court will announce his sentence on July 8 for the escape case. His defense lawyer, Alexandros Alexandrou, referred to new evidence that emerged regarding Theophanous' initial conviction.

Theophanous claims his conviction is a product of judicial error based on false testimony. Giorgos Sachmpazov, a prosecution witness, allegedly retracted his initial statement. Additionally, a written statement by Angelos Mantis states that Antonis Prokopiou Kitas contradicted his testimony to the police, incriminating Theophanous. Alexandrou argued that Kitas is a "great mythmaker" and that Theophanous did not commit the crime.

Ilias Satolias, the lawyer for the 28-year-old who helped in the escape, referred to his client's immediate admission and cooperation with the authorities. The representative of the Prosecuting Authority noted that the statements made do not concern the present case.

Theophanous had been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Yulia Oporok and 35 years for the manslaughter of her daughter, Victoria.
