Detainee Found Dead in Keratea Police Station

A foreign detainee was found dead this morning at the Keratea Police Station. The detainee had been arrested for violating narcotics laws.

According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), the man had communication with the police at 07:00 this morning and was found unconscious about half an hour later. Despite attempts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation, his death was confirmed by EKAV.

The competent Prosecutor was informed, and a forensic doctor went to the scene. Procedural and official actions are being carried out by the EL.AS.

It is noted that the detainee had been subject to a restrictive condition of appearing at a police station in Attica for violating narcotics laws. The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Sub-Directorate for the Investigation of Crimes of Southeastern Attica.
