Cyprus: Cause of Death of Russian Oligarch Baumgertner Remains Unclear

The cause of death of 56-year-old Russian businessman Vladislav Baumgertner, whose body was found on the beach of Avdimou in Cyprus, remains unclear. The autopsy did not reach a clear conclusion.

Samples have been taken for toxicological, histopathological examinations, and DNA analysis. Vladislav Baumgertner had been reported missing since January 7. The search had focused on the Pissouri area, near Lemesos.

Baumgertner had served as CEO of Uralkali and was arrested in Belarus in 2013.
