Cyprus: Lawyer Embezzled Deceased's Estates – Disbarred

A shocking case has come to light in Cyprus, where a lawyer allegedly embezzled the estates of deceased individuals, depriving their rightful heirs.

According to reports, the lawyer failed to inform relatives about the estates they were entitled to, sold properties, and misappropriated the funds. In at least seven reported cases, the total damage exceeds €540,000, of which only €205,000 has been returned.

The Disciplinary Board of the Cyprus Bar Association has disbarred the lawyer. Two cases have been sent to the Legal Service for potential criminal prosecution.
