Cyprus: Family Man Dragged to Court Unjustly for Milk Theft
Share on:

A family man working as a distributor for a dairy company was unjustly dragged to court on charges of stealing milk cartons. The prosecution was suspended due to lack of evidence.

According to an article by Fanis Makridis in "Phileleftheros," the case began in 2020, following a complaint from a bakery-confectionery manager. The distributor appeared in court 18 times.

The case reached the Attorney General, who decided to suspend the prosecution in early November, as the reviewed videos showed no indication of a crime. The defendant's lawyer, Marios Spyrou, argued that the complainants were lying.

The Legal Service apologized for the delay and admitted errors in the investigation.
