Cyprus: Father Arrested for Sexually Abusing His Daughter

A 45-year-old foreign national has been arrested in Cyprus on suspicion of sexually abusing his minor daughter and possessing pornographic material. The arrest followed an investigation that began in the summer, with the participation of detectives from the USA, who were involved in an undercover investigation into crimes against children.

According to the newspaper «Phileleftheros», the detective communicated via an application with the 45-year-old, posing as the mother of two minor children. The 45-year-old revealed his actions against his daughter and his desires for other girls. The Cypriot Authorities, with information from the USA and Europol, located conversations of the suspect with other persons.

Following a search, laptops and mobile phones were seized from his home, which will be examined. The Court ordered his seven-day detention.
