Arrests and immediate deportations of dangerous foreign nationals have been decided by the Ministry of Justice and the Deputy Ministry of Migration in Cyprus.

As part of the government's policy to combat crime, the Cyprus Police, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice and the Deputy Ministry of Migration, arrested 11 foreign nationals on January 26, 2026, for involvement in serious incidents of violence.

Following an assessment, it was decided to deport those who met the requirements, and they were placed on a stop list to prevent them from returning to Cyprus. One detainee is a European citizen and was not deported, while an Indian national was not deported due to an investigation into a sham marriage in cooperation with Interpol.

The authorities emphasize their cooperation to ensure public order and the safety of citizens.
