Cyprus: Arrests and Deportations of Illegal Immigrants

Over 30 illegal immigrants have been arrested in Cyprus during a nationwide operation by the Aliens and Immigration Service of the Police. The Ministry of Public Order is proceeding with immediate deportations.

The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Kostas Fytiris, stated that the government aims to combat organized crime and enhance the safety of citizens. The arrests took place in various regions, including Larnaca, Tersefanou, and Paphos.

K. Fytiris called on citizens to cooperate with the Police by providing information for prevention and early intervention. He also mentioned the need for additional legal and operational means for more effective action against organized crime.
