Larnaca: 17-Year-Old Driver Arrested for Drug Driving with 16-Year-Old Passengers

A 17-year-old was arrested in Larnaca for driving without a license and under the influence of drugs, with two 16-year-olds as passengers. During a search, police found cannabis in the vehicle.
According to a police statement, members of the Cycling Police of the Larnaca Police Department stopped the vehicle for inspection on Athens Avenue. It was found that the 17-year-old was driving without a license or insurance.
In a subsequent search, five nylon bags of cannabis, weighing approximately five grams in total, were found. The 17-year-old and one of the two 16-year-olds admitted to possession of the drugs and were arrested.
The three minors were taken to the Drug Enforcement Agency, where two were charged in writing and will be summoned to court later. The 17-year-old driver tested positive in a preliminary drug test.
The Drug Enforcement Agency (Larnaca Branch) and the Larnaca Traffic Police are continuing the investigation.
