Larnaca Airport: Second Polish National Arrested with Smuggled Cigarettes

On 19/7/2025, customs officials at Larnaca Airport arrested a 26-year-old Polish national attempting to travel to London with smuggled cigarettes.

During inspection of his luggage, 166 cartons of cigarettes (200 cigarettes per carton) and 4.25 kilograms of rolling tobacco were discovered and confiscated. The products did not bear the required warnings about the harmful effects of smoking in Greek and Turkish, nor the traceability code, indicating they were untaxed.
