Larnaca: Raid on Construction Site – 19 Arrests for Illegal Labor

A coordinated operation by the Police and the Inspection Service led to the arrest of 19 individuals in the Larnaca district for illegal labor. The operation took place at a construction site under development.

According to the announcement, the operation took place at 9.30 am on Wednesday. The detainees are third-country nationals who were working illegally without a permit. One of them was found to be illegally in Cyprus.

Cases of illegal employment are being investigated against the 19 detainees and illegal employment against their four employers. The Oroklini Police Station has taken over the case.

Members of the Aliens and Immigration Service, the Sub-Directorate of Green Line Surveillance and Migration Flow Management, and officials of the Inspection Service participated in the operation.

The officials of the Inspection Service issued notices for the payment of administrative fines, totaling 63,000 euros, for violations related to undeclared work and non-application of relevant legislation.
