Larnaca: Investigation into Possible Poisoning – One Dead, Four in Hospital

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 78-year-old man and the possible poisoning of four other people in Larnaca.
According to the police, the 78-year-old man's wife was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after feeling unwell, and her husband died shortly after. On Sunday, friends and acquaintances gathered at the house for coffee and support. During the gathering, three people lost consciousness and were taken to the hospital.
Two of the hospitalized individuals were given antidotes for suspected poisoning. A third person is in a comatose state, but their health is improving.
Scientific tests will be carried out to determine the cause of the incident and whether the consumption of a specific product or substance caused the adverse health effects in the five individuals. Samples have been taken and will be sent for analysis. The scene has been cordoned off and is being guarded by the police.
A water cooler is also under investigation by the authorities to determine whether it was used by all the individuals.
