Larnaca: Mobiles and Vehicles of Suspects in Criminal Organization Case Under Investigation

The Larnaca District Court ordered the eight-day detention of five suspects arrested on Thursday for involvement in a criminal organization. The suspects, aged 42, 22, 31, and two 29-year-olds, were brought to court under heavy security measures.
The court's decision was based on "reasonable suspicion of committing the relevant offenses and involvement of the five suspects." The detention began on Friday, January 23.
Police reportedly found videos on the 22-year-old's mobile phone as part of an investigation into the attempted murder of a 47-year-old businessman on July 31, 2025. The material relates to the period 2023-2025.
According to the police, 366 entries have been made and information has been collected over the past six months. More than 32 depositions are expected from the suspects' environment, center owners and security guards.
A forensic examination of the suspects' mobile phones and lifting of their telecommunications data will be carried out. Police are investigating offenses such as participation in a criminal organization, conspiracy, extortion and money laundering from illegal activities, allegedly committed in the Larnaca province during the period 2023–2025.
