A dramatic chase unfolded in the Larnaca district when a 25-year-old attempted to evade a police check. During the pursuit, the 25-year-old collided with a patrol car, and officers were forced to fire warning shots.

The incident began when members of the Kiti Police Station spotted a parked vehicle in a rural area of Dromolaxia. The driver of the vehicle, in an attempt to escape, collided with a police vehicle.

After the vehicle was stopped, it was found that the driver was a 25-year-old resident of Larnaca. A search of the vehicle revealed 93 grams of cannabis, a small amount of cocaine, four cartridges, and a knife.

Two police officers were injured during the incident and were taken to Larnaca General Hospital. The 25-year-old is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court today.

YKAN, in cooperation with the Kiti Police Station, is continuing the investigation.
