Larnaca: Drug Chase, Shots Fired, Police Officers Injured

A dramatic chase occurred in the Larnaca province when a 25-year-old attempted to evade a police check. During the chase, the 25-year-old collided with a patrol car, and police officers were forced to fire warning shots.

According to the Police, members of the Kiti Police Station located the suspicious vehicle in a rural area of Dromolaxia. The driver tried to escape, colliding with a service vehicle. Warning shots were then fired.

Following the arrest, the suspect was identified as a 25-year-old resident of Larnaca. A search of the vehicle revealed 93 grams of cannabis, a small amount of cocaine, four cartridges, and a knife.

Two police officers were injured and taken to Larnaca General Hospital. The 25-year-old is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court today.
