Larnaca: Lifeguards Staff 11 of 19 Towers

11 of the 19 lifeguard towers on beaches in the city and province of Larnaca are staffed with lifeguards.

According to statements to CYBC by the District Supervisor of the Lifeguard Office, Savvas Ioannou, five recruitment procedures have been carried out, at least one each month, with the last one taking place last week.

Mr. Ioannou said that four more people will start work tomorrow, who will staff the new lifeguard tower in front of the Lenios Hotel in Larnaca.

He added that there is currently a shortage of lifeguards and at the same time the procedures for recruiting people for the sector have become stricter.
